I have spent a lot of time out on the moors in the Trough of Bowland, sat in a small hide waiting to see if I could photograph Hen Harriers. I used to pick a bright calm winter morning and sit and wait.
The best images were purely by chance as I was leaving a hide set in woodland at the edge of the moor, when the bird in the first 4 frames flew by.
I was lucky enough to accompany Natural England to a nest site while they were fitting satellite tags, the light was very poor but I did get some shots of the male returning with prey.
Also photographed while waiting for the Harriers were the Grouse in flight and Goshawk images.
This image is a large crop of a wing tagged bird, prior to satellite tagging, which was tagged in Bowland.
The following are images mostly large crops of birds seen.
